One Month

Turner was a month old Thursday, May 12th. He is drinking 4 ounces every 3-5 hours and weighed 8 pounds 13 ounces last Friday. Newborn clothes no longer fit and is wearing size 1 diapers. We go to the doctor tomorrow for his 1 month check up and second dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine. Turner is happy most of the time unless he is having stomach problems. Kent and I have both heard him giggle during his sleep. It was the cutest thing ever! Can't wait to hear more of them. He recognizes Mommy and Daddy's voices and loves watching his sound machine projector. He has also noticed his swing mobile recently. His eyes are a dark blue and his hair is getting lighter. Turner is happy laying on a blanket kicking his legs and looking around. When holding him he stares at you for a long period of time. Bath time is an enjoyable moment too.

My Very Own Pampers Baby

As I was going through and organizing Turner's closet I noticed that Turner looks like the Pampers baby model on the package of the Size 1 Diapers.
I just can't get enough of Turner's soft hair and cheeks!

Kent Turner's "Birth"-day

Kent Turner was born at 2:46 pm on Tuesday, April 12th (a day before his due date, April 13th). He weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

I was dilated to a 10 when they checked me at 12:50 pm. My nurse had me start pushing at 1:05 pm. The last 30 minutes was the hardest. Specially when they had me wait to push until the doctor arrived. At this point I felt like I had no control of the pressure. Turner was coming rather I pushed or not.

Proud Daddy

Proud and tired Mommy (Excuse my hair... Kent put it in a ponytail for me after I had my IV. I should have done this prior to getting my IV.)

Our Precious Baby Boy

The day before Turner was born I worked and felt so tired. At this point I had been dilated since 35 weeks and was having braxton hicks off and on. Knowing that I was scheduled to be induced on Thursday, April 14th at 6:00 am I was so anxious for that day. Kent came to bed around 11:30 pm Monday night, he kissed me on my forehead like he does every night when he comes to bed, I told him I didn't feel good and that I was having some pain. Little did I know at this time I was having contractions. Kent asked me how often I was in pain and I told him like every 20 minutes. From then on we timed every pain "contraction" and it ranged from 10 - 20 minutes apart. Kent called his mom to tell her that I was having contractions and that her and my father-in-law would probably be making the drive from Dallas to San Antonio on Tuesday. I ended up going back to sleep but woke every time I had a contraction. Which I provided the schedule of my contractions below. I didn't start tracking them on my phone until they got to be closer together.

At 5:15 am, I woke Kent up to tell him we better start getting ready to go. I finished packing, fed Snowflake and paced around before we actually left the house at 5:45 am. We arrived at the hospital around 6:05 am, I was dilated to a 6 and was in our delivery room at 7:45 am. Kent made the calls and texted the people who he needed to and there we wait. I slept after receiving my epidural until visitors arrived. The first to arrive were my dad "Papaw" and Charlene "Cici", then Kent's sister "Aunt Kristen", Kent's mom and dad "Mimi and Poppa Boat". My mom "Big Momma" and sister "Aunt Debra" couldn't make it down to San Antonio until Wednesday. Kent's oldest sister "Aunt Kelle" and family are back in Germany and told her that we would rather have the family together at Christmas then to have them here for Turner's birth.

Overall, my delivery was perfect. So thankful for a smooth delivery and good pregnancy. We are very excited to have our little blessing here!

DHS Alumni Class of 2005

Ten years ago the end of this month Kent graduated from high-school. Kent received an email recently with a survey to complete regarding dates and ideas for their class of 2005 10 year reunion... Kent is anxious to see his fellow class mates again later this year! Can't believe it's already been 10 years... Below are his Senior pictures. What a handsome guy he was and still is! Love my high-school sweetheart.
Time flies when your having fun!

Below is his college graduation invitation that I made. Kent graduated from UTSA in December of 2012. Seven years later but HE DID IT! So proud to call him my husband!
